The Catalog is your one-stop hub for managing different types of items used in your business operations. Here’s a detailed guide to help you navigate through its features:
🤩 Overview
The Catalog page is organized into different tabs:
- Products
- Ingredients
- Packaging
- Chemicals
- Packaged Products
Each tab displays items in a table format with the following columns: Name, Type, Tracked By, Updated, Attributes.
✨ Creating New Items
To create a new item, click the "Create" button at the top-right corner of the screen. A new page will appear where you can fill in the following details:
🎨 General Information
- Image: Upload an image of the item.
- Name: Enter the item's name.
- Variant (Type): Select the appropriate type (Product, Ingredient, etc.)
- Description: Add a brief description.
🔍 Inventory Settings
The Inventory Settings in the Catalog are designed to help you manage how each type of item is handled within your inventory. The options you see will vary depending on the item type you are dealing with. Below is a breakdown:
📦 Products
Inventory & Production Method: Choose a Consumption Strategy (FIFO, FEFO, Random) to dictate how this item should be utilized or consumed in production.
Unit of Measurement: Pick the primary unit for this item (e.g., kg, gram, unit, ounce). You can also specify a conversion unit.
Code Prefix: Optionally add a prefix to all generated codes for this item for easier identification.
Code Template: Choose a pre-set code template for generating unique product codes.
Shelf Life: Input the number of days this item can be stored before it should be removed from storage.
🧪 Ingredients & Chemicals
Infinite Mark (for Ingredients only): Mark this if the item does not need to be in inventory to be used. This is often used for resources like water or electricity.
Inventory & Production Method: Similar to products, choose a Consumption Strategy.
Unit of Measurement: Specify the unit for this item.
Shelf Life: Enter how many days this item can be stored before it should be taken out of inventory.

Inventory & Production Method: Choose a Consumption Strategy.
Unit of Measurement: Choose the unit used for tracking this item.
Weight Per Unit: Enter the weight of a single packaging unit and choose the measurement unit (gram, kilogram, ounce, pound).
Shelf Life: Input the number of days this item can be stored before it should be removed from storage.
📦 Packaged Products
Inventory & Production Method: Select how this item should be consumed or used in production.
Code Prefix: Add an optional prefix to the codes generated for this item.
Code Template: Choose a pre-set code template for generating unique product codes.
Shelf Life: Input the number of days this item can be stored before it should be removed from storage.
📋 Details
- Identifiers: UPC, Catalog Item ID
- Dimensions: Length, Width, Depth
- Casing: Packaging and palletization details
💡Note: Casing is currently only functional during the receiving process. Please read the article for information on bulk receiving.
🛠 Custom Attributes
Create custom attributes by entering the attribute name, choosing its type (text, number, yes/no), and marking it as required if necessary.

For Products and Packaged Products:
- Default Price
- Customer-specific Pricing
For Ingredients, Chemicals and Packaging:

- Supplier-specific pricing

💾 Saving and Deleting Items
Once you’ve filled out all the necessary information, click "Save Item" to add the new item to the appropriate tab's table. You can also delete items if needed.
