Introducing price lists
To enhance clarity and efficiency in price management, Tracktile has relocated the pricing section from the catalog to its own dedicated area under Facility Settings. This change allows for a more focused and organized approach to handling prices across different customer and supplier groups.
Accessing Price Settings
Navigate to Facility Settings:
- go to Facility settings to access various configuration options.
Select the Price Lists Tab:
- Here, you can manage all aspects of pricing.
Managing Default Prices
Configure Default Prices:
- Use the ‘Default Prices’ button to set up prices that are generally consistent across all customers or suppliers. This is particularly useful if your item prices do not fluctuate often.
- Default prices are automatically applied to purchase orders, orders, and shipments unless overridden by specific customer/supplier settings.
Using Price Lists
Create and Manage Price Lists:
Price lists allow you to group customers or suppliers with specific items and set unique pricing for these groups.
To create a new price list:
- Click ‘Add’.
- Enter a name for the price list.
- Select the type (Customer or Supplier Price List).
- Choose the currency.
- Set the status as active or inactive depending on your needs.
- Depending on the type, add customers or suppliers to your price list. The available selections will be filtered based on the chosen currency.
- Next, add the items for which you want to set prices.
Limitations and Considerations
Each item can only have one price per customer/supplier within a price list. For instance, if you set a price for Product X at $5 for Customer A, you cannot create another price list with a different price for the same item and customer combination.
This streamlined approach to managing prices ensures clarity and consistency in your sales and procurement processes, making it easier to adjust pricing strategies as your market conditions change.
