Tracktile โ Supported Tablets (Android)
Requirements and recommended devices for running the Tracktile app
Tracktile is also an Android app that can be installed from the Google Play Store. It currently runs on Android tablets only โ iPad and other Apple devices are not supported at this time, and Amazon Fire tablets are not supported (they don't include the Google Play Store).
We often advise that the tablet requirement is 10.1โ or larger, but screen size alone does not tell you whether a tablet will work. What matters is the tablet's usable working area, which depends on both its resolution and the display density it ships with. Some inexpensive tablets advertise a large, high-resolution screen but set an unusually high display density, so Tracktile renders as though it were on a small phone and buttons end up off-screen. The safest way to avoid this is to buy one of the vetted devices listed below.
Requirements at a glance
| Requirement | Minimum (supported) | Recommended (best experience) |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | Android with the Google Play Store | Android 14+ with Google Play |
| Screen size | 10.1 inches or larger | 11 inches or larger |
| Screen resolution | 1920 x 1200 or higher | 2000 x 1200 (2K) or higher |
| Working area (Android smallestWidth) | At least 800 dp in landscape (i.e. landscape 1280 x 800 dp) | 900 dp or more |
| Android version | Android 12 or newer | Android 14 or newer |
| Memory (RAM) | 4 GB | 8 GB or more |
| Processor | Recent Snapdragon, MediaTek Helio/Dimensity, or Google Tensor | Mid-range or better from the same families |
| Brand | Recognized brand (see device list) | Recognized brand (see device list) |
A tablet must meet every item in the Minimum column. The one item that is not printed on any spec sheet โ the working area (smallestWidth) โ is exactly why we publish the device list below; buying from that list guarantees it is met.
Recommended tablets
Any tablet in these three tiers meets the requirements and has been chosen from established brands that configure their displays correctly. Prices are approximate (Wi-Fi models) and change with sales.

What to avoid
- Off-brand or generic tablets (the kind sold cheaply on marketplace sites). These often advertise a large screen and high resolution but fail in practice because of non-standard display density โ buttons and menus run off-screen.
- Amazon Fire tablets โ they use Fire OS and do not include the Google Play Store, so Tracktile cannot be installed.
- Any Apple iPad โ iOS/iPadOS is not supported at this time.
- If you are considering a tablet that is not on the list above, contact Tracktile support before buying and we can confirm whether it will work.
Wall-mounted kiosk stations (browser-based)
For a permanent, wall-mounted station, Tracktile runs as the web app in a locked-down kiosk browser โ not the Android app. This is the preferred setup for fixed kiosks: the web app gives the better experience on a large, always-on screen, and it avoids the display-scaling issues entirely because you control the whole device.
Recommended hardware: a commercial Android touch panel. These are built for continuous (24/7) use, mount flush to a wall, and are powered permanently over a single Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) cable โ so, unlike a consumer tablet, there is no battery to swell or fail over time.
| Panel | Size / Resolution | Touch & mounting | Power | Approx. price (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ProDVX APPC-10XP | 10.1" / 1280 x 800 | 10-pt capacitive; VESA + flush wall mount | PoE+ (single cable) or 12V DC; no battery | $450 - 650 |
| iiyama ProLite TW1023ASC | 10.1" / 1280 x 800 | 10-pt capacitive; VESA + flush | PoE; no battery | $400 - 550 |
| IAdea XDS-1078 | 10.1" / 1280 x 800 | Capacitive; VESA 100, glass/gang-box | PoE / PoE+; no battery | $400 - 550 |
| ProDVX APPC-15XP (larger) | 15.6" / 1920 x 1080 | 10-pt capacitive; VESA + flush | PoE+; no battery | $700 - 900 |
| Elo I-Series 4 (Android) | 10.1"-15.6" / up to FHD | Capacitive; VESA + low-profile wall kit | AC (PoE on some SKUs); no battery | $700 - 1000 |
Best default: the ProDVX APPC-10XP (or the 15.6" APPC-15 for a larger screen) โ capacitive touch, flush wall mount, single-cable PoE, and no battery. iiyama and IAdea are near-identical PoE alternatives; Elo is the premium option with the strongest remote-management ecosystem.
Budget alternative: a listed tablet in a wall enclosure. A tablet from the list above can be wall-mounted in a locking enclosure. It costs less, but a consumer tablet on permanent power is prone to battery swelling during 24/7 use โ so enable a charge limiter (Samsung Knox battery protection caps charging at ~85%, or use an inline limiter such as Chargie). A commercial panel avoids this entirely.
| Enclosure / mount | Fits | Key features | Approx. price (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compulocks Apex Wall Mount | Galaxy Tab A9+, S9/S10, others | Locked aluminum enclosure, keyed access, charging pass-through, portrait/landscape | $150 - 250 |
| Displine Companion Wall Home | Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ / Tab series | Integrated USB-C charging, optional in-wall PSU (hidden cable), easy removal | $290 - 300 |
| Bouncepad Wallmount | Galaxy Tab A9+, others | Lockable enclosure, internal cable routing, optional tilt | $150 - 220 |
Software: lock the browser to Tracktile. Use a kiosk browser so the station boots straight into Tracktile, stays full-screen, reloads on crash, and can't be exited without a PIN. Recommended default: Fully Kiosk Browser (about $8 per device one-time, plus optional Fully Cloud remote management around $2 per device/month). For larger fleets or stricter control, Scalefusion or Android's built-in dedicated-device (COSU) mode are good step-ups.
Set-up essentials: mount in landscape; lock the browser to your Tracktile URL; enable autostart-on-boot, full-screen, and auto-reload; set a PIN-protected exit; and connect via Ethernet (PoE) or reliable Wi-Fi.
For IT / advanced users: verifying a device
If you need to confirm a tablet that isn't on the list, the value that matters is the Android landscape smallestWidth, which must be at least 800 dp. With the device connected over USB debugging:
adb shell wm size (shows resolution in pixels)
adb shell wm density (shows the reported DPI)
Then: smallestWidth (dp) = shorter side in pixels รท (density รท 160). Example: 1200 รท (240 รท 160) = 800 dp โ passes. If a supported tablet shows a cramped layout, first set Settings โ Display โ Display size to Default, which resolves the most common case.
