Setting Up Consumption Strategies for Inventory Management
Tailoring the consumption strategy for each item in your inventory ensures that your production process is both efficient and aligned with your inventory management goals. Here's how you can specify the strategy for each item in your Catalog in Tracktile.
How to Configure Consumption Strategies
-
Navigate to Your Catalog: Start by opening your Catalog to view all items listed.
-
Select an Item: Choose the specific item you want to configure by clicking on its record.
- Access Inventory Settings: Within the item's details, locate the Inventory Settings section. Here, you'll find the Inventory & Production Method configuration.
- Choose Your Strategy: From the dropdown menu, select the preferred consumption strategy for this item: FIFO (First In, First Out), FEFO (First Expire, First Out), or Random.
Integration with Automated Code Filling
Streamlining Input Selection: Automated vs. Manual Code Input
By configuring a consumption strategy, you're essentially prioritizing how items are selected during the production process. This becomes particularly useful if automated code filling is enabled, ensuring that inputs for production are chosen based on the set strategy.
💡 This approach to consumption strategy configuration allows for a more streamlined and strategic management of your inventory, directly impacting the efficiency of your production process.
