Managing Fixed Quantities for Inputs and Outputs in Production Recipes

In manufacturing, precision is crucial, especially when certain inputs and outputs in a recipe need to be maintained at fixed quantities, regardless of batch size changes. Here’s how to configure this in Tracktile:
Setting Up Fixed Quantities in Recipes
- Access the Recipes Section: Navigate to the Recipes page on the admin panel.
- Open or Create a Recipe: Either select an existing recipe to modify or click “Add” to create a new one.
Configure Fixed Quantity: In the recipe's inputs/outputs section, you’ll find the “Fixed Quantity” option.
- Enable Fixed Quantity: Activate this setting for the input/output that needs to be fixed. This ensures that the quantity of this particular input or output remains constant, regardless of the number of recipe repeats or scaling adjustments.
- Other Ingredients: All other ingredients without the fixed quantity setting will scale normally based on the recipe repeat number.
Practical Applications
This feature is invaluable in scenarios such as:
- Filtration Units: In the brewing process, a specific type of filtration unit might be required to achieve the desired clarity and quality of the final product. Regardless of whether the brewery is producing a small batch or scaling up to larger volumes, always using fixed amount of filter ensures consistency in the brewing process.
- Dairy Cultures in Cheese Making: In cheese production, maintaining a consistent amount of starter cultures across different batch sizes ensures uniform flavor and texture development in all cheese wheels.
The fixed quantity feature in Tracktile enhances control over recipe formulation, ensuring that critical components remain consistent across all production runs.
