Understanding Reallocation / Deconstruction
Overview
Reallocation or deconstruction is a valuable function in our system that allows for the efficient reuse or recycling of packaging materials or returning products to inventory. This function is specifically available for items categorized as âproductâ or âpackaged.â
Step-by-Step Guide to Deconstruct a Finished Product
Selecting the Product
- Navigate to the âFloorâ Section: Here, you can choose any product that is categorized as either âproductâ or âpackaged.â
- Example: Letâs use a '10-pack of Croissants' for demonstration.

Accessing Deconstruction Options
- Options Column: In the list, locate the âOptionsâ column next to your selected product.
Information Icon: Click on the âiâ icon in the Options column to open a new window with more details.
Initiating Deconstruction
Deconstruct Tab: Within the new window, click on the âDeconstructâ tab.

Choose Components: You will see options for every input that contributed to the finished product. For instance, choose to return âBaked Croissantsâ to the âStorage Stageâ and mark the packaging as waste.

Completing the Deconstruction
- Finalize: Click on the âDeconstructâ button.
Confirmation: Observe that the âBaked Croissantsâ are now reallocated to the âStorage Stageâ.
