In Tracktile, you now have two robust options for item categorization, enhancing flexibility and accuracy in inventory management:
Manual Categorization
- How it works: Create item categories and assign specific amounts to each category manually.
- Applications: Perfect for items that vary only slightly in characteristics and do not need to be tracked as separate inventory but must be categorized differently, such as for quality, size, or type.
Categorization by Unit of Measurement (UOM)
How it works: Set categories based on specific unit of measurement thresholds. Provide minimum and maximum thresholds for each category, allowing Tracktile to auto-suggest the appropriate category based on these defined ranges.
- Automation benefits: Using a recent customer use case involving turkey categorization: When items are placed on a scale, Tracktile automatically highlights the appropriate category based on their weight, simplifying the categorization process. If a category outside the suggested range is selected, a warning is displayed to ensure accuracy.
- Error prevention: This method reduces the likelihood of mis-categorization, improving overall inventory accuracy and efficiency.
These categorization options are designed to simplify the way you manage inventory, reducing the need for multiple catalog entries while ensuring items are accurately grouped and easy to retrieve.
